“I joined WITS because our collective contributions can make a big impact, especially to small startup charities.”

“WITS has enabled me to learn more about our community and the people dedicated to creating better lives for others.”

Who We Are

We are a small philanthropic group of Charleston area friends and neighbors who financially support local charities that serve at risk women and children in the Lowcountry. We target grassroots organizations, often startups, closest to our at-risk communities of persistent poverty, addiction and neglect. Our goal is to provide timely, targeted giving.

We are Women Inspired To Serve – WITS.

Through a combination of cash and in-kind giving, along with direct engagement through site visits, we know we can make a difference. In addition to supporting several local charities each year, we sponsor a fundraising event for one selected nonprofit. We raise dollars for this charity and give them the opportunity to educate the public about their special work.
